LETTER FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL
Dear Delegates and Advisors,
Welcome to LYMUN XII! My name is Rhia Nagale, and I am beyond excited to serve as the Secretary-General of this year’s conference. I am currently a senior at LT, and this is my fourth year in Model United Nations. Outside of MUN, I am the managing editor of LT's LION Newspaper, an avid tennis (and pickleball) player, and an aspiring medical professional.
As I navigate my final semester of high school and prepare for the next chapter, I have been reflecting on my experiences over the past four years. From approaching global topics with new perspectives to learning the art of advocacy and becoming a more confident speaker, MUN has been transformative for me. Beyond MUN, I often find myself collaborating and communicating using the same skills I developed in committee. Delegate-you is real-life-you. My hope is that LYMUN XII serves not only as an opportunity for achievement but also as a space for growth and empowerment.
Committee can be intimidating: full of unfamiliar faces, nerve-wracking speeches, and an overwhelming flurry of motions. I get it. So embrace it. Embrace every stutter and stumble as part of the process. Embrace your mess-ups and mistakes, and let LYMUN XII be an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone. Whether it’s giving your first speech, writing your first resolution paper, or introducing yourself to someone new, I encourage you to take a risk.
Best of luck!
Sincerely,
Rhia Nagale
Secretary-General, LYMUN XII
